art deco rings

Downton Abbey takes place during the 1920’s, so we’re on the hunt for 1920’s rings. That falls in the realm of the Art Deco jewelry period, which was strongly defined by geometric shapes and strong lines. I’ve even put together a bit of a refresher for you guys:

What was 1920’s jewelry like?
Geometric shapes like triangles, pentagons, and trapezoids Bold edges Strongly contrasted color combinations with gems of ruby, onyx, sapphire, and emerald. Design names of the day: Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels, Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli. Sleek, streamline

5 Pieces of Elegant Moonstone and Garnet Jewelry

moonstone and garnet jewelry

Merge the dark mystery of a garnet with the light iridescence of a moonstone! Moonstone is a nice accent for darker gemstones such as garnet – which has a burgundy shade to it, and is the birthstone for January. (Moonstone is a birthstone for June.) The marriage of these two elements in a piece of jewelry – such as a ring – is of understated glamour and elegance.

The first piece of moonstone and garnet jewelry I’d like to show you is an Arik Kastan designer ring, set with rose gold. A halo of garnets (bezel set in gold) surround the round moonstone like a cele

Five Superior Art Deco Emerald Rings

art deco emerald rings

Since this is the month for emerald rings, I decided I’d specifically find some art deco styled rings with emeralds to feast our eyes upon. Let’s get to it.

The first ring has an understated elegance about it. At first glance, I thought the emerald wasn’t large enough. But then I liked that it wasn’t overbearing.

organic turquoise rings

Ceek Jewelry is new to me, but instantly I found three Ceek Rings and two Ceek necklaces that I wanted to wear. They are fiercely boho but also have traditional styles based upon antique art deco elements. They’ve been featured in InStyle and Lucky Magazine – so plenty of stylish people are taking notice. (Including me, and now you!) “Ceek” is pronounced like “seek” which is easy to remember.

The two friends who made this bold-yet-dainty line of jewelry are Carter Ellingson and Esther Kim. From organic slabs of turquoise to art deco necklaces with

Art Deco Citrine and Black and White Enamel Ring

art deco rings

What made me do a doubletake with this ring was the unusual black and white enamel. But I think the ring shoulders are also really equally as eye-catching, you really want to do a doubletake there, as well! That open scrollwork is just gorgeous.  This is an oval buff top setting for the citrine, which makes it pop and gives it extra dimension. It’s hard for me to not love it! This is a 1920’s ring. Fin

Searching for that perfect diamond and emerald ring? The focus in this post is in having a diamond as the center stone, or that there is an even amount.
